JEFFERSONVILLE

Ledbetter to talk C’Town hoops

Charlestown resident Chuck Ledbetter will offer a presentation on the history of basketball in Charlestown from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today, April 23, at the Jeffersonville Township Public Library, 211 E. Court Ave., in Jeffersonville.

Ledbetter, the author of the newly released “Pirates of the Hardwood,” will also be signing copies of his book during the events. 

 

CLARK COUNTY

Tea Party to meet Thursday

The Clark County Tea Party invites the public to the group’s next meeting Thursday, April 25, in Sellersburg.

The free event takes place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Silver Creek Middle School, 495 N. Indiana Ave. The featured guest speaker will be Kent Masterson Brown. MARENGO

Children’s theater hosting play

Peacock Children’s Theatre Inc. a Southern Indiana Regional Theatre that provides entertainment, education and fun for children and families in Southern Indiana, will present an old fashioned melodrama “Stop the Presses!” written by Tim Kelly at 7 p.m. Friday, April 26 and at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, April 27. The performances will be held at Hillview Christian Church, 4180 E. Ind. 64 in Marengo. The show, which features a cast of 12 plus extras, was written for elementary school students as well as adults to enjoy. The melodrama takes place in the Colorado Clarion Newspaper office in the town of Four Corners, Colo., where four states — Utah, Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico — meet.

Tickets may be purchased at the door 30 minutes before the show. General admission is $5 and $3 for children.  Group and large family rates are available. For more information, call 812-338-3845.

 

LOUISVILLE

Antiques fair set

Preservation Louisville will host an antiques fair and open house at the Brennan House Historic Home, 631 S. Fifth St. in Louisville, from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 28. 

The event will give visitors a chance to learn more about the home’s antiques and guests are encouraged to bring their own antiques for appraisal. The cost for the antiques fair and open house is $5 for members and $10 for non-members. For more information, call 502-540-5146.
