NEW ALBANY —
One lane on the lower eastbound deck of the Sherman Minton Bridge will be closed between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21 to allow crews to take concrete samples to determine if, and when, the bridge deck needs to be replaced.
Indiana Department of Transportation crews will be taking the samples and the analysis being performed is not structural in nature, according to a press release.
If a second day of lane closures is necessary, it would occur between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24. No lane closures will be needed for the upper deck of the bridge carrying westbound traffic.
