Preregistration is taking place for the 13th Annual Charlestown Founders Day 5k Run/Walk scheduled for Saturday, June 22. This event is co-sponsored by Anytime Fitness of Charlestown (www.anytimefitness.com) and Pacers & Racers Running Store of New Albany (www.pacersandracers.com) and held in conjunction with the Charlestown Founders Day Celebration.
This year’s 5k run/walk will be a road race through historic Charlestown. It will officially start at 8 a.m., while registration and check-in will be held on the City Square beginning at 6:45 a.m. The pre-registered entry fee is $20; the late entry fee (received after June 15) is $25. Net proceeds of this event go to the Charlestown Beautification Committee to fund future projects to beautify the city.
This year’s race will take place just prior to the Charlestown Founders Day Parade. Spectators are invited and encouraged to attend. Awards will be given to the top male and female finishers in each age group for the 5k run and the top five walkers. All pre-registered participants will be guaranteed a commemorative T-shirt and all participants will be eligible for door prizes.

Registration for all three races is available on the Active.com/running website.
The 13th annual Charlestown Founders Day Celebration will begin on Friday, June 21 and conclude on Saturday evening, June 22, with a dazzling fireworks display. Many special events and activities are planned throughout the community-wide festival celebrating Charlestown’s 205th birthday.
