Rain postpones I-64 work in Floyd County to Friday

U.S. 150 also affected this weekend

FLOYD COUNTY — The Indiana Department of Transportation has rescheduled bridge work on Interstate 64 east of U.S. 150 in Floyd County due to rain.

Work is scheduled to begin this weekend at 6 p.m. Friday — weather permitting. Concrete work may require single-lane closures until 6 a.m. Monday. Lane closures include the U.S. 150 ramp to eastbound I-64 and the right lane of eastbound I-64 between mile markers 119.8 and 120.1. The eastbound I-64 left lane will remain open, but with reduced lane and shoulder width.

The work includes approach slabs at both ends of the bridge over Quarry Road in New Albany Township being repaired by Excel Excavating, INDOT’s contractor.

Additional approach slab repairs have been scheduled for the weekend of Dec. 6 through Dec. 9. No I-64 restrictions are planned for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
