NA-FC library receives photo digitization grant

The New Albany-Floyd County Public Library is the recipient of an LSTA Digitization grant through the Indiana State Library, and the Institute for Museum and Library Services for the purpose of digitizing a large portion of the library’s historic photo collection to be placed online.

Over the course of the grant period, the library will be working in collaboration with the Floyd County Historical Society and Heritage Photo and Research Services, a vendor in Indianapolis, to digitize more than 7,000 photographs for cataloging and inclusion in a publicly accessible online database. The digitized photos will be available both through a website provided by the library and through the Indiana State Library’s Indiana Memory Project, where it will be made available along with projects done by other Indiana libraries.
