Thrift store hosting birthday party Saturday

Funds benefit animal rescue

JEFFERSONVILLE — Sophie’s Hope Thrift Shoppe is hosting a birthday party from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19.

The all-volunteer thrift store launched last year is a nonprofit organization that donates its proceeds to Southern Indiana Animal Rescue to raise funds to help and support rescued animals.

“We are celebrating our first year with a birthday celebration,” said Lynda Sylvester, who runs the thrift store.

She said the store has something for everyone, including typical thrift store items, antiques and some items for pets.

Saturday’s celebration will include $1 specials, a dart game where customers can earn a discount of up to 75 percent off and, of course, a birthday cake.

Sophie’s Hope Thrift Shoppe is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. The store is located at 3808 10th Street in Jeffersonville, and can be reached at 812-786-9324.
