SOUTHERN INDIANA

Senator to talk with constituents

Sen. Jim Smith, R-Charlestown, will attend several community events Saturday, April 6, in Scott, Clark and Switzerland counties. He will be available to meet with constituents, answer questions and provide information on the 2013 legislative session.

He will conduct the following town hall events:

• 8:30 to 10 a.m. at the Scottsburg Heritage Station Train Depot, 90 N. Main St., in Scottsburg;

• 11 a.m. to noon at the Switzerland County Technology and Education Center, 708 W. Seminary St., in Vevay;

• 3 to 5 p.m. at New Chapel United Methodist Church, 5616 New Chapel Road, in Jeffersonville. The event will run until 7 p.m;

• 6 to 8 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 1460 N. Gardner St., in Scottsburg.

 

JEFFERSONVILLE

Church hosting sausage supper

New Chapel United Methodist Church, 5616 New Chapel Road, Jeffersonville, will hold its annual sausage supper from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, April 6, at the church.

The dinners will be $10 for adults and $5 for children. The dinners include green beans, mashed potatoes and sausage gravy, slaw or applesauce, roll, fresh sausage patties, a homemade dessert and drink. Carry-out is available. Any questions can contact the church at 812-282-2950. 

 

K of C hosting chicken dinner

The Knights of Columbus, 225 E. Market St., Jeffersonville, will sponsor an all-you-can-eat chicken dinner from 6 to 8 p.m., April 12, at the K of C Hall.

The menu will be chicken, green beans, macaroni and cheese, potatoes and gravy, slaw, drink and dessert for $8.

A large portion of the proceeds will be given to charity.

 

CLARK COUNTY

Tea Party to meet tonight

Clark County Tea Party Patriots will meet from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today, April 4, at Silver Creek Middle School, 495 N. Indiana Ave., Sellersburg. The event is free and open to the public.

 

FLOYD COUNTY

Republican women’s club to meet

The Floyd County Republican Women’s Club will hold its monthly meeting at 6 p.m. today, April 4. The meeting will be at Tucker’s American Favorites, 2441 State St., in New Albany.
