5 P.M. UPDATE: Head-on accident kills 2 people in Washington County

HARDINSBURG — The names of two people killed in a head-on collision in Washington County have been released.

According to Indiana State Police, the two-car accident happened around 9:15 a.m. Monday on Hardinsburg-Livonia Road north of the West Knight Road intersection.

ISP said Tami J. Durbin, 26, Hardinsburg, was the driver of the red Chevy Cobalt and Terry P. Collins, 64, Orleans, was driving the black Jeep Compass.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Durbin’s northbound Cobalt crossed into the southbound lanes as it topped a hillcrest and struck the Jeep driven by Collins. ISP said both Durbin and Collins were wearing seatbelts and the airbags in both vehicles deployed.
