Fire Museum to celebrate Father’s Day
The Vintage Fire Museum and Safety Education Center, 723 Spring St., Jeffersonville, announced that on Father’s Day weekend, every father who visits the museum will receive an LED flashlight as a gift.
In addition, through the entire summer, the museum is reducing the admission cost by $1 for every visitor who comes across the Big Four Bridge. The reduced admission is $4 for adults and $1 for children 3-15.
Also, children who voted on the name of the 6-foot Dalmatian in front of the museum has selected the name “Spot.”
The Fire Museum has expanded its hours and is open noon to 4 p.m. Fridays, 10 to 5 p.m. Saturdays and 1 to 4 p.m. Sundays. It also is open by appointment by calling 812-948-8711. Visit vintagefiremuseum.org for more information.
Artisans group to meet
The Southern Indiana Guild of Artisans will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, June 16, at the Old Bridge Inn Bed and Breakfast, 131 W. Chestnut St., Jeffersonville.
A short program will be presented by Marilee Mundy Burnside on fused

Birthing Center marking Father’s Day
In honor of Father’s Day, the Floyd Memorial Hospital Birthing Center is holding a Like Father/Like Son Facebook Photo Contest running through Father’s Day, June 15.
The contest is sponsored by Babies R Us. Anyone 18 or older can submit a single photo of a father with his son or sons for a chance to win a $100 Babies R Us gift card, a 60-minute massage from Floyd Memorial Rehab Services and a gift bag from the Birthing Center.
Voting is open through Sunday. The winner will be announced Monday, June 16, on Facebook. One vote per email address per day is allowed.
