WEATHER FORECAST: Rain gives way to sun for Thunder

LOUISVILLE — We’ll begin our Friday with a rain chance. This front will slow down leading to a threat for more rain to develop on and off during the day on Friday. Not a washout, but periods of rain expected into the afternoon and evening. Highs should still easily push into the upper 60s with some 70s possible if the sun tries to break through. This front is expected to wash itself out Friday night into early Saturday. My latest thinking is that a few clouds will linger into early Saturday, but with dry air in the mid levels of the atmosphere we should see those fade away during the late morning hours. With some midday sunshine Saturday cumulus clouds will develop into the afternoon. We can’t completely rule out a brief shower, but most areas will remain dry and warm with highs well into the 70s. Another front will move in Sunday and really warm things up to near 80 for the area. Showers and storms with that front looks likely Sunday night and especially Monday. Frost is possible after this front passes.
