Charlestown teen missing

Police ask for public’s help

CHARLESTOWN — The Charlestown Police Department is seeking any information on the whereabouts of 17-year-old Gwen Nichole Rubio who was last seen almost three days ago.

“We need the public’s help in locating Rubio and making sure she is safe as well as reuniting her with her family,” police released in a statement Wednesday morning.

Rubio has been staying with a family member in the 100 block of Spring Street in Charlestown since May, and on the night of Monday, June 10, she left without notice, police reported.

A family member of Rubio advised police that she went to the grocery store and left Rubio at the residence alone and upon returning the girl and her belongings were gone.

Officers have checked with several friends and family members in the area who have not seen or heard from Rubio.

“At this point we don’t have any evidence to suggest foul play is involved,” police released in a statement. “There is no indication that Rubio was taken against her will.”

Rubio is a white female approximately 4 feet 11 inches tall, weighing approximately 120 pounds with light brown or blonde hair and blue eyes.

She has friends and family members living in the following areas: Charlestown, Clarksville, New Albany, Borden, Memphis, Boston, Ky., and Louisville.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Rubio is asked to contact their local law enforcement agency or the Charlestown Police Department at 812-256-6345.
