Bridges project to change three downtown Louisville bus stop locations


LOUISVILLE —

Because of construction on the Ohio River Bridges Project, three bus stop locations will change starting Monday, July 15, on Main and Market streets near the Interstate 65 overpass just east of downtown Louisville, according to a Transit Authority of River City press release.

One stop on the north side of Main Street under I-65 and two others nearby on Market Street will be removed.

Passengers who use those stops on the Main-Market Street trolley route, and on Route No. 15 — Market Street, can use other stops within two blocks that will remain in service for the same routes.

Previous stop location: the north side of Main Street near I-65; route impacted: Main-Market Trolley westbound; suggested alternate stop: trolley stops in front of the Pee Wee Reese Statue at Louisville Slugger Field and Main Street at Jackson Street.

Previous stop location: north side of Market Street west of Hancock Street; route impacted: No. 15-Market Street westbound; suggested alternate stop: Market Street west of Clay Street and Preston Street north at Jefferson Street.

Previous stop location: north side of Market Street east of Jackson Street; route impacted: No. 15-Market Street westbound; suggested alternate stop: Market Street west of Clay Street and Preston Street north at Jefferson Street.

TARC anticipates other stop location changes as construction progresses and will notify TARC passengers as those changes are determined, according to the release.
