Weather forecast: Winter weather advisory begins Friday night

Up to three inches of snow expected overnight

LOUISVILLE — More winter weather is on the way. For the second Friday in a row a winter weather advisory is in effect for Southern Indiana.

The advisory will be in effect from 7 p.m. Friday until 10 a.m. Saturday. Before that time you can expect dry conditions as clouds increase during the afternoon. By Friday evening temperatures will drop below freezing. With precipitation increasing from the south and running into the colder air we’re expecting precipitation to fall as snow, especially across Southern Indiana. Snow totals will range between one and three inches with lesser amounts south of the Ohio River. Problems should be limited to the overnight hours Friday into early morning Saturday. Temperatures by mid-morning Saturday should rise above freezing alleviating any travel problems.

The unsettled weather looks to continue into next week. Below average temperatures will generally be on tap as well.
