New Albany man arrested for child molesting

Incident reportedly occurred in 2009

NEW ALBANY — A New Albany man was arrested Wednesday and charged with molesting a 12-year-old girl in 2009.

Shane T. Cue, 42, of the 1600 block of E. Main St., faces A felony child molesting charges after admitting to New Albany Police that he had sexual intercourse with the victim when she was 12 years old, according to the probable cause affidavit.

On May 8, 2014, the department of child services received a report that a 17-year-old had disclosed that she was sexually molested by Cue while visiting her father in June of 2009. She told investigators that Cue, who was living with her father at the time, had choked her and performed a forced sex act on her. She said abuse had occurred on two separate occasions in the same week, according to the affidavit.

Cue is currently in the Floyd County Jail.
