10 Clark County employees named in civil complaint

Louisville attorney files complaint claiming mistreatment of drug court participants

LOUISVILLE — A class action civil complaint filed Tuesday by a Louisville attorney in federal court names 10 Clark County employees as the defendants, stemming from claims of mistreatment to Clark County Drug Treatment Court participants and some who have been placed on work release.

The complaint also list several “unknown Clark County” employees.

Those attorney Mike Augustus listed in the complaint as defendants are: “[Clark County Circuit Court No. 2] Judge Jerome F. Jacobi; [former drug court program director] Susan Knoebel; [former drug court field officer and suspended Clark County Circuit Court No. 2 bailiff] Jeremy Snelling; [Clark County Chief Probation Officer] Henry Ford; Clark County Sheriff Danny Rodden; [Clark County Community Corrections Work Release Director] Danielle Grissett; [Clark County Community Corrections Executive Director] Stephen Mason; unknown Clark County Work Release employee[s]; unknown Clark County Circuit Court clerk; and Clark County Board of Commissioners [Rick Stephenson, John Perkins and Jack Coffman].”

Augustus is representing Destiny Hoffman, Nathan Clifford, Joshua Foley, Jesse Hash, Ashleigh Santiago, James Bennett, Amy Bennett and Lee Spaulding, six of whom are drug court participants, and two who are claiming mistreatment in work release programs.
