Area events rescheduled because of approaching weather

> SOUTHERN INDIANA — Snow’s not to blame this time, but the threat of serious storms has led to the rescheduling of a local meeting and a special event in New Albany.

The New Albany-Floyd County Animal Control Authority meeting was rescheduled for 4:30 p.m. today instead of 7 p.m.

The New Albany-Floyd County Consolidated School Corp.’s annual Educational Support Employee of the Year Banquet was canceled for a second time. The event has been rescheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, at the Education Support Center on Grant Line Road.

High school swimming sectionals at Highland Hills Middle School are still scheduled for this evening, but it’s possible that could change.

• The Jeffersonville Redevelopment Commission scheduled for 6 p.m. tonight has been cancelled due to anticipated severe weather.
