Jeffersonville bank robber remains at large

Police look for public’s input

JEFFERSONVILLE — Jeffersonville police are still working to locate the woman who robbed a Jeffersonville bank Thursday afternoon.

A woman entered Your Community Bank, located at the intersection of East 10th Street and Utica Sellersburg Road, about 12:10 p.m. and was given less than $2,000 after handing a teller a note, said the case’s lead investigator, JPD Detective Brian Mitchell Friday.

Mitchell said the note read that she had a weapon and to put money on the counter.

He said the teller complied, and the woman exited the bank on foot, but may have entered a vehicle parked nearby.

It remains undetermined if the woman acted alone, or if an accomplice helped her commit the robbery.

Mitchell said investigators are attempting to obtain surveillance video footage from surrounding businesses to help their investigation.

The woman was seen wearing a long-sleeve, black shirt, blue jeans, white scarf, fedora hat and sunglasses at the time of the robbery [see related photo].

She is described as being a white female between 5 feet 3 inches and 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 120 to 130 pounds.

Police are asking anyone with information of the incident to call the department’s crime tip line at 812-218-TIPS.
