NAACP Freedom Banquet set

New Albany/Floyd County NAACP Freedom Fund Banquet will be at 7 p.m., Friday, Dec. 14, at The Grand, 138 East Market Street, New Albany.

Speaker will be Dr. Eric A Johnson, pastor of Greater Galilee Church in Louisville. Music will be by The Spiritual Wonders of Louisville. Tickets are $40 each. Email nicoleyates1217@gmail.com or call 812-987-6266 for more information or tickets.

40 & 8 club hosting open house

The 40 & 8 Club will sponsor an open house and ham and chicken dinner from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, at the clubhouse, 221 Albany St., New Albany.

The price for the ham or chicken dinner with mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, slaw and dessert, is $6.

Business awards to be given out

The December membership meeting and Small Business Awards Luncheon will be at noon, Thursday, Dec. 13, at the Charlestown Arts and Entertainment Center, Water Street, Charlestown.

Tea Party group to meet

The Clark County Tea Party invites the public to the group’s next meeting from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 13, at Silver Creek Middle School, 495 N. Indiana Ave., Sellersburg.

Ag outlook on the way

The Purdue Extension Service of Clark County will present a program titled Agricultural Outlook 2013 at 7:30 a.m. Dec. 18 at the Clark County 4-H Fairgrounds, 9608 Ind. 62, Charlestown.

The program is free to the public and is designed to help farmers, land owners, input suppliers, and those interested in agriculture make better business decisions in the coming year. The program will be presented by Dr. Chris Hurt, an Agricultural Economist from the Purdue campus. Breakfast is provided, and reservations should be made by calling 812-256-4591 by Friday, Dec. 14.
