As the song says, Christmas can be the “happiest season of all.” The sad reality is that many people are truly hurting during the holiday season, whether due to a death of a loved one, job loss, depression or a variety of other reasons. There is a place for those who are not “jolly” this Christmas. Everyone in the community, regardless of religious affiliation, is invited to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church for a Blue Christmas service especially designed for those feeling “blue” this Holiday season. The service will consist of prayers, songs, a candle-lighting ceremony, and members of the St. Paul’s Healing Team to pray with individuals. For more information you may contact the church office at 812-944-0413 or go to their website at stpaulna.org

Those who bring in a teddy bear will receive a ticket for a free hot dog and drink during the game. In an effort to give back to the children of the community, the Student-Athlete Committee of CHS will be accepting teddy bear donations between the third and fourth quarters of the varsity game. To bring excitement to the event, participants will throw their teddy bears onto the floor between the third and fourth quarters. The teddy bears will be collected by CHS SAAC members and distributed to children in need in the area. Teddy bears must be new with tags still attached. Santa Claus will be making an appearance after the start of the JV basketball game. Kids will have the opportunity to meet Santa and have their picture taken with him.
