Ultimate Hoosier antique guide available for purchase

‘Antique Treasures’ full of pickin' hot spots, Hoosier heritage

— Whether you’re searching for that perfect art nouveau piece — the top antique trend of 2013 — or pre-20th century furniture, a new hardcover guide provides an invaluable resource for Hoosier collectors, pickers and sellers, as well as those curious about Hoosier heritage.

“Antique Treasures: Pickin’ your way across Indiana” lists more than 450 antique store hotspots spanning the entire state of Indiana, as well as important historic landmarks, including the Harrison Mansion in Vincennes in Southern Indiana, the Kokomo Automotive Museum to the north and the beloved Riley home in central Indiana.

The book — perfect as a Christmas gift — contains 90 pages of information presented in a variety of forms highlighting numerous fun and colorful places across the state to learn about Hoosier heritage and where to buy and sell antiques and collectibles.

Chapters are divided by region and types of businesses/attractions, including:

• “Northern Indiana Antiques”

• “Central Indiana Antiques”

• "Southern Indiana Antiques”

• “Auctions, Estates, Appraisals and Restoration”

• “Boutiques and Consignments”

• “Northern Indiana Historic Museums and Venues”

• “Central Indiana Historic Museums”

• “Southern Indiana Historic Museums and Venues”

In addition to feature stories, listings and business spotlights, readers will find businesses specializing in auctions, estates and appraisals, as well as information from museums and venues, historical societies and chambers of commerce.

The attractively designed, easy-to-read book looks great on the coffee table or can be used as a toteable tool as you pick your way across the Hoosier state.

“Antique Treasures” — produced by CNHI Indiana and Pediment Publishing — retails for $24.95 and can be purchased at the News and Tribune’s Jeffersonville office, 221 Spring St., or New Albany office, 303 Scribner Drive.
