LOUISVILLE — Five Louisville animal sheltering and rescue agencies are joining North Shore Animal League America’s Tour For Life, the world’s largest cooperative national adoption initiative, for an adoption event from 2-7 p.m. Friday, April 12, at the Walmart Supercenter in Middletown, 12981 Shelbyville Road.

Local shelter host the Kentucky Humane Society, along with Louisville Metro Animal Services, Derby City Dog Rescue, Saving Sunny and Tyson’s Chance will have adoptable pets and information at the event.

Northshore Animal Rescue League will bring their “shelter on wheels” adoption vehicle, and LMAS will have their SPOT vehicle, both loaded with dozens of cats, dogs, puppies and kittens. Animals from all five agencies will be available for adoption, and the public is invited to learn more about these agencies that, collectively, are working to end pet homelessness by ensuring that every adoptable pet in the Louisville area finds a permanent, loving home. In addition, there will be raffles and giveaways.

Northshore Animal Rescue League is the world’s largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption organization. Last year’s Tour for Life helped find homes for more than 1,500 animals across the country.
