SOUTHERN INDIANA

Ramps being built for people with MS

The Kentucky-Southeast Indiana Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society has teamed up with MAC Construction and Gould’s Discount Medical to build ramps for people living with multiple sclerosis in the area.

The Kentucky Southeast Indiana Chapter serves 108 counties in Kentucky as well as in Clark and Floyd counties. In the territory, more than 4,900 people are diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.

Ramp it up for MS is now accepting applications from anyone living with the disease within a 60-mile radius of Louisville. To have an application sent to your home, call 1-800-344-4867 or download the application at www.nationalmssociety.org/kyw. All applications must be received by March 15.

 

Young holding mobile office hours

The office of Rep. Todd Young (R-IN9) will be holding mobile office hours in Scott County from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., March 20, at Scottsburg Train Depot, 90 N. Main Street, Scottsburg.

Constituents who need help in dealing with a federal agency are encouraged to visit during this time as caseworkers will be present to assist them.  Constituents who have questions or would like to reserve time for a meeting should contact the Jeffersonville Constituent Service Center at 812- 288-3999.

Indiana’s 9th District includes all or parts of Brown, Clark, Crawford, Floyd, Harrison, Jackson, Johnson Lawrence, Monroe, Morgan, Orange, Scott, and Washington Counties in southeastern Indiana.

 

FLOYD COUNTY

Historical Society meeting March 26

The Floyd County Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26 in the Elsa Strassweg Auditorium of the New Albany-Floyd County Public Library.  

Mr. Greg Phipps will present the program entitled “The Stained Glass Windows of New Albany.” The meeting is free and open to the public.
