The Gallery on Pearl in New Albany to feature final anniversary exhibit

NEW ALBANY — The Gallery on Pearl is wrapping up its fifth year anniversary celebration with an exhibit titled “Translating Texture”, which will run from Jan. 25.

The exhibit will feature two local artists in painter Jeanne McCutcheon and glassblower Chad Balster, and will kickoff with an opening night reception from 6 to 8 p.m. on Jan. 25.

McCutcheon is noted for her ability to paint rural scenes with a very distinctive style, and she primarily works with a pallet knife to give her paintings a three-dimension texture according to The Gallery on Pearl.

Balster’s works have been featured at Louisville Glassworks, where he has displayed his pieces and taught classes.

The opening night reception will feature an artist talk at 7 p.m., and refreshments will be served. The Gallery on Pearl is located at 222 Pearl St. in downtown New Albany inside the White House Centre.
