BMV branches closed for MLK Day
All branches of the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles will be closed Saturday, Jan. 19 through Monday, Jan. 21, in observance of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, according to a press release from BMV Commissioner R. Scott Waddell. Locations will resume normal operating hours Tuesday, Jan. 22.
Next NARFE meeting set
The National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association chapter No. 1777 of New Albany will have its monthly meeting at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Tucker’s American Favorites, 2141 State St., New Albany.
The program will be a report from the Jan. 8 meeting with legislators at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, arranged by Rep. Ed Clere, to give NARFE members from across Indiana a chance to convene with lawmakers and push for fairness in legislation affecting civil service retirees.
Lunch for the Jan. 23 meeting can be ordered from the menu. No reservations are necessary and all active and retired federal employees and their families are invited to attend.

City seeks proposals for bike plan
Companies are invited to submit a request for proposal and qualifications for professional services related to the development of a bicycle and pedestrian master plan for the city of Jeffersonville.
The goal is to increase the number of people bicycling and walking in Jeffersonville.
