Deadline nears for CAC art competition

The deadline for the 2013 Congressional Art Competition, or CAC, is Friday.

The competition is open to high school students around the country, and residents of the 9th District can submit art pieces via U.S. Rep. Todd Young’s offices in Jeffersonville, Bloomington or Greenwood.

The Jeffersonville office is located at 279 Quartermaster Ct.

The competition began in 1982, and all 2013 entries will be displayed at the Jeffersonville 9th District office for three weeks.

One entry will be chosen as the 9th District of Indiana representative and will hang in the U.S. Capitol for one year.

Entries will be judged by a panel of professional artists, and also will receive votes online via Young’s Facebook page.
