Parks looking for student advisers

The Clarksville Parks & Recreation Department is launching a new Student Advisory Board.

The board members’ objective will be to discuss the direction of the parks department. The goal will be to help the department develop better programs, events and activities for the community.

Meetings will be held once a month in the Executive Conference Room at the Clarksville Municipal Building. Positions will be open to Clarksville area students in grades five through 12. Only one student will be chosen from each grade level, so these are competitive positions. SAB members will be selected based on responses on the Student Advisory Board Application. Interested students should visit clarksvilleparks.com to download the application, and return it to the Clarksville Parks offices. Applications will be accepted until all board member positions are filled.
