HARRISON COUNTY —
Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating an all-terrain vehicle accident that occurred in Harrison County on Thursday afternoon.
At about 3 p.m., officers were called to the accident scene on private property located along Walnut Street in Corydon. The 20-year-old driver, identified as Edward Crone of Corydon, suffered possible hip injuries. He was taken by ambulance to Harrison County Hospital for treatment, according to a release from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.
Crone was operating his Honda 400EX when he lost control and was ejected from it, striking a tree. A friend who was at the property with Crone was able to quickly call for help.
Crone had recently purchased the ATV and was not wearing any protective equipment at the time of the accident.
Indiana Conservation Officers strongly encourage riders to always wear a helmet, use necessary safety equipment and perform safety checks prior to operating an ATV.
