Participants sought for New Albany cleanup

Beautification event set for Saturday downtown

NEW ALBANY — Volunteers are needed for Saturday’s downtown cleanup in New Albany.

Volunteers will plant flowers, apply mulch and help spruce up the area by picking up trash downtown during the cleanup, which will run from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

From individual volunteers to clubs and scout troops, there will be plenty to do on Saturday so anyone interested is asked to attend.

Volunteers will need to bring their own work gloves, rakes, shovels and weed pullers. Participants are asked to sign-in at the MainSource Bank parking lot, located at 100 E. Spring St., before beginning work on Saturday.

The event is sponsored by Keep New Albany Clean and Green, Develop New Albany and the Horseshoe Foundation of Floyd County.

Mulch, flowers and garbage bags will be provided, and Ecotech will supply trash cans for the event.

If you are interested in having a large group participate in the cleanup, please call 812-548-6676, or e-mail irv@nacleanandgreen.org.
