WEDNESDAY UPDATE: Weather forecast changes some trick-or-treat schedules

Heavy rains are in the forecast for Thursday evening

> SOUTHERN INDIANA — The forecast for possible severe weather Thursday has led some area cities and towns to change scheduled trick-or-treat hours.

Here are the most current hours below. For last-minute changes, visit or call your local city, town or county.


• The city of Jeffersonville still plans to hold its official trick-or-treat from 6 to 9 p.m. on Halloween night, Thursday, Oct. 31. However, the city also has set up an alternate day from the same time Saturday, Nov. 2, if parents or guardians feel it is unsafe for their children to be out on the streets because of potential bad weather.

• New Albany will hold trick-or-treating from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday. However, an alternative date of Friday will be used if its storms.

• Floyd County and Georgetown will hold trick-or-treat from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. 

• The city of Charlestown has moved its trick-or-treat ahead a day, along with its Trunk or Treat event in the city square. Both events will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30. In addition, the First Baptist Church in Charlestown has moved its Halloween trick-or-treat to 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. The event will be held indoors.

• Clarksville has also moved it’s trick-or-treat to 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday due to the weather concerns.

• Sellersburg has changed the town’s official trick-or-treat to 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

• Utica will hold its trick-or-treat from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

• Clark County’s trick-or-treat hours will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, but County Commissioner Rick Stephenson asked residents to check with their township trustees, as the trustees have the authority to change times.

• New Washington is holding trick-or-treat hours from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1.

• Borden’s trick-or-treat time also will be Friday, from 6 to 8 p.m.

• Green Tree Mall will hold a Mall-O-Ween treat night from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31 inside the mall for kids 1 to 12 years old.
