Hospital offering pain seminar
Floyd Memorial Hospital is offering a free bone and joint pain seminar from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 7, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in the Main Street classroom. This is an opportunity for those who are having trouble with activities like walking, golf, bowling, swimming and gardening due to pain in the knees or hips, to learn about advanced treatments that may offer dramatic relief. An orthopedic surgeon and nurse will discuss medications and exercise, and explain the latest technology for joint replacement surgery.

Mexican dancers coming to library
The New Albany-Floyd County Public Library will host Mexican dancers from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 12.
The dance troupe Arcoiris Latino will perform dances from several different regions of Mexico. Arcoiris Latino is comprised of first- and second-generation immigrants from Mexico. The group is comprised of dancers from grade school to teens.

Purdue’s open house is today
Purdue University’s College of Technology in New Albany, at Charlestown Road and Interstate 265 in New Albany, will host an open house from 5:30 to 8 p.m. today, March 5.
Purdue has expanded degree offerings at the New Albany campus. Those attending the open house will be able to tour the facility including classroom and labs and meet with faculty. Purdue staff will be able to answer questions about applications and coursework, and students will be available to speak about their experiences.
