Sobriety checkpoint in Clark County on Saturday

Task Force to begin checking motorists at 10 p.m.

CLARK COUNTY — The Clark County DUI Task Force will conduct a sobriety checkpoint in Clark County beginning at 10 p.m. on Saturday and lasting until 2 a.m. on Sunday.

The task force is comprised of officers from the Charlestown, Jeffersonville and Sellersburg police departments, as well as the Clark County Sheriff’s Department.

According to Charlestown police Maj. Jason Broady, motorists will be only slightly inconvenienced as long as they have a valid driver’s license and vehicle registration and “provided they’re not impaired,” Broady said. The process should last about two minutes.

“We encourage everyone to drive sober or get pulled over,” Broady said.
