NEWS AND TRIBUNE
Jeffersonville is in the design phase for its Combined Sewer Overflow Interceptor Project in downtown Jeffersonville. The project will make improvements to Jeffersonville’s Combined Sewer System to lessen the magnitude and recurrence of combined sewer overflows into the Ohio River and Cane Run, per an Environmental Protection Agency mandate.
The project will have a one-year design phase that includes surveying and underground exploration.
During the next few months, Jeffersonville residents may see surveying equipment and surveyors in the project area, as well as drilling rigs for underground investigation. The majority of work for this project should take place inside the existing road right-of-way.
The project area will include Chestnut Street between Graham Street and Pearl Street, and then continue north from Maple and Pearl streets toward Ninth Street and Indiana Avenue.
