IU Southeast to host economic update
The Indiana University Southeast School of Business will hold its annual mid-year economic update on May 17.
The event begins with a networking breakfast at 7 a.m., and the presentation will follow at 8 a.m. featuring Uric Dufrene, the Sanders Chair in Business at IUS.
Dufrene will focus his talk on national trends and implications for the local economy.

Joint work session Monday
The Clark County Council and the Clark County Commissioners will hold a joint public workshop meeting on Monday, May 13, at 4:30 p.m.
The meeting will be held in room 418 of the Clark County Government Building, 501 East Court Ave., Jeffersonville.
The regular meeting of the Clark County Council is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. that day.
Retired federal workers to meet
The monthly meeting for Chapter 381 of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees for Jeffersonville will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, at the American Red Cross, 1805 E. Eighth St., Jeffersonville.
Featured speaker will be Ken Schulz, the former TV weatherman, who will give tips on how to prepare in case of severe weather.
Library hosting Mother’s Day program
Sellersburg Library, 430 N. New Albany St., will sponsor a Mother’s Day program from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 11, at the library.
Bring your mother, aunt or other special friend to watch “Freaky Friday” and make your own nail polish.
Victorian Chautauqua is May 18-19
The Howard Steamboat Museum will hold its 21st Annual Arts, Crafts, Garden and Antique Fair on Saturday and Sunday, May 18 and 19.
Hours on Saturday are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Events will include a Carriage House antique sale, 80 vendor booths, large herb and perennial sale, book signings, live music, mansion tours, Family Fun Fest, food, drinks and snacks.
Admission is $4. Children under 12 are admitted free. The museum is located at 1101 E. Market St. in Jeffersonville.
NA-FC Library hosting pet fair
The New Albany-Floyd County Public Library is hosting the eighth annual pet fair from 12:30 to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 11, at the library’s annex parking lot, at the corner of Scribner Drive and Spring Street.
Individuals representing several organizations will be available to provide information on pet health, rescue groups, pet adoption and other pet-related needs. There will be adoptable pets at the fair and some will be able to be adopted on the spot. There will be a pet costume parade beginning at 2:30 p.m. with prizes for the best dressed pet.

FMH to host RN job fair
From 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services will host an open house and job fair for registered nurses.
As the hospital continues to grow and serve more patients, the need for qualified registered nurses in all areas, especially the emergency department, cardiac ICU, observation unit and internal agency, has increased. Refreshments will be provided and the open house allows those attending to tour the facility, meet the hospital’s leadership team and staff nurses.
