TARC to offer youth summer passes

> SOUTHERN INDIANA — Transit Authority of River City youth summer passes will go on sale Wednesday.

The passes cost  $30 and are good for unlimited travel on all TARC routes by anyone ages 6 to 17 years old through Aug. 31.

“We encourage young people and employers to consider the summer youth pass for job opportunities this summer,” said J. Barry Barker, executive director of TARC, in a press release. “The pass is a great tool for youth to access positive experiences all summer long throughout greater Louisville.”

By taking public transportation, young people can gain self-confidence and become more self-reliant, important skills for lifelong success, Barker said. All TARC buses are equipped with bicycle racks that can provide greater mobility.

The pass will be on sale at: Union Station, 1000 W. Broadway; Nia Center, 2900 W. Broadway; at all Fifth Third Bank locations; the Louisville Free Public Library at 3rd & York; or by visiting www.ridetarc.org.

To order a pass by mail, send a check or money order for $30, with your name, address and phone number, to SUMMER YOUTH PASS; c/o TARC cashier; 1000 W. Broadway, Louisville, KY 40203.
