Preschool Fair at Children’s Academy
The annual Preschool Fair will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, April 19, at the Children's Academy Early Learning Center, 1111 Pearl St., in New Albany. The fair includes fun activities, raffles, door prizes and resources for families with children up to age 5.

FMH hosting Cardinal Uniform sale
Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services Auxiliary will host a Cardinal Uniform sale from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday, April 22, in the Paris Education at the hospital, 1850 State St., New Albany.
The sale will be open to the public as well as hospital employees and associates. The will be an abundance of items such as uniforms, scrubs, Nursemate Shoes, stethosopes, socks, support hose and blood pressure cuffs.
There will be plenty of clearance items and a large selection of value-priced scrubs. As always, a percentage of the sales will go toward the many hospital projects of the Auxiliary.
NA-FC Library book sale Saturday
From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, the Friends of the New Albany-Floyd County Public Library will host its annual psychology and self-help book sale in the library’s Annex Building at the corner of Scribner Drive and Spring Street.
All books in the psychology and self-help section will be discounted by 50 percent. Regular prices are $1 for hardbacks; 50 cents for videos, DVD's and paperbacks; 25 cents for audio book cassette tapes; and 10 cents for magazines and music cassette tapes. Children's books are available at prices of $1 or less.
40 & 8 to host open house
The 40 & 8 Club will sponsor an open house and lunch, noon to 3 p.m., April 21, at the clubhouse, 221 Albany St., New Albany.
Spaghetti and meat sauce, fried chicken, vegetable medley, salad and dessert. Cost is $7.
Schad to speak at Bipolar Support Alliance
The Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance will host an evening with Sam Schad, a Social Security representative from Schad and Schad trial attorneys, from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, April 29 in the conference center of Clark Memorial Hospital.
Schad will be giving a Powerpoint presentation providing information on eligibility for Social Security disability as well as making a smooth transition from work to disability.
This is a free event for people who suffer from mood disorders and need to be on disability. Family and friends of those individuals are also welcome.

Clark Co. Extension Homemakers Scholarship available
The Clark County Extension Homemakers are offering two scholarships of up to $500 each to any qualified Clark County resident.
One scholarship will be given to a high school senior and the other scholarship will be awarded to any other person who would like to complete their education or upgrade their vocational skills.
Preference will be given to a person studying at an undergraduate level. Scholarships will be awarded with regard to academic and extra-curricular activities such as community involvement.
