Arrest made in Jeffersonville man’s murder

Philip Schulz interrupted a burglary at workplace

LOUISVILLE — An arrest has been made in the recent murder of a Jeffersonville man, according to news-gathering partner WAVE-3 News.

Officials with the Louisville Metro Police Department have stated that Raymon Murrell was booked into Louisville Metro Department of Corrections Tuesday afternoon for his involvement in the murder, WAVE-3 reported.

Murrell is charged in the killing of Philip Schulz, 63, Riverview Court.

Schulz is believed to have interrupted a burglary in progress at his place of work in Louisville early Friday morning.

He died Saturday night at University of Louisville Hospital after receiving head and neck injuries from blunt-force trauma, officials have reported.

The attack occurred after Schulz arrived to work at Packaging Unlimited located along West Kentucky Street about 4:30 a.m.

Murrell is charged with murder, burglary and tampering with physical evidence in Schulz’s death, according to WAVE-3.
