Charlestown mother, son arrested

Maintaining a common nuisance was the most serious charge

CHARLESTOWN — A mother and her son face numerous drug charges following their arrest Sunday at 220 Arlington Ave. in Charlestown.

Ellen M. Johnson, 55, and her son Michael D. Campbell, 36, were taken into custody by Indiana State Police troopers with assistance from the Charlestown Police Department following an investigation into suspected illegal drug activity allegedly taking place at the residence. During a search of the home, suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia were seized. 

Johnson and Campbell were preliminarily charged with maintaining a common nuisance, a D felony, dealing in marijuana, an A misdemeanor and possession of marijuana, an A misdemeanor. 

The two were transported to the Michael L. Becher Adult Correctional Complex in Jeffersonville.

There were no updated records listed for Johnson or Campbell on online court records.
