Pillar Awards presented to businesses, leaders

Feast BBQ, Rookies Cookies among the recipients

Mayor Jeff Gahan spoke during the ceremony and thanked Develop New Albany members for their volunteer work and dedication to the city.

“I’m encouraged by the energy I see, and the enthusiasm, and the commitment of the membership,” Gahan said.

LaRocca will be taking the place of Susan Kaempfer, who served as president of Develop New Albany for two years. Typically the organization’s presidents serve a two-year term.

LaRocca thanked Kaempfer for her service to the organization and her leadership. He was especially complimentary of her work in managing the downtown Farmers Market.

“There’s not a farmers market in the [Louisville] metro that can top the one we have here,” LaRocca said.
