Claysburg reunion set for Aug. 2-4
The Claysburg Reunion, titled “Our Roots,” will be held Aug. 2 through Aug. 4 at Henry Lansden Park, 15th Street and Thomas V. Bryant Drive, Jeffersonville.
• Friday, Aug. 2: noon to midnight featuring booths and vendors.
• Saturday, Aug. 3: 11 a.m. to midnight, featuring booths, vendors and family picnic.
• Sunday, Aug. 4: 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., booths and vendors with a Gospelfest at 6 p.m.
Take a trip to Cedar Farm
The public is invited to a program Thursday, Oct. 10 at Cedar Farm — the only antebellum plantation-type property in Indiana — that includes transportation from Jeffersonville to Cedar Farm and return with lunch. The cost for the entire day — lunch, transportation, and program — is $50 per person.
You also can join the Southern Indiana Minority Enterprise Initiative at its third annual conference, “A Progressive Journey through Indiana History,” which will be held Oct. 9-11.

NAHS holding 50-year reunion
New Albany High School class of 1963 will hold a 50-year reunion Aug. 2-4.
On Aug. 2, a gathering will be at Newlin Hall, 2818 Green Valley Rd., New Albany, for an evening of fun, food, drinks, games and auctions. Music will be provided by the Monarchs.
On Aug. 3, a dinner and dance will be held at the Calumet Club Ballroom, 1614 East Spring St., New Albany. Dance music will be from “The Doctors of Swing,” a big band orchestra.
The brunch Aug. 4 will be at La Bocca, 134 E. Market St. New Albany. There will be champagne and music to accompany the Italian brunch buffet.
