Police: Woman murdered man during sexual role play

Lisa Shuler officially charged with murder of Charles Pierce

NEW ALBANY —

During an additional interview on Tuesday, “Shuler advised that she wanted to tell me what really had happened on the night of the murder,” the investigator noted in the affidavit.

Shuler told the investigator that she had planned for Pierce to come to her home “to play out rape fantasy,” according to the affidavit.

She had left the front door of the home unlocked and was doing dishes when Pierce arrived, and the role playing began with the oral sex in the living room.

“[Shuler] advised that after she had performed oral sex on Pierce, she thought that she did not want to go further with the things that Mr. Pierce wanted to do as far as the role play,” according to the affidavit.

She also told investigators that she did not want to tell Pierce to leave because he would show her husband the photographs from one of their past past sexual encounters.

“Shuler advised that when she was done performing [oral] sex on Pierce, she pulled out her firearm and fired two rounds from a kneeling position at close range into Pierce’s body,” according to the affidavit. “She advised that Pierce moved around after he had been struck by the bullets, and she got into a standing position and fired the rest of the rounds at him.”

Shuler told investigators that before Pierce had arrived at her home, she had deleted more than 200 text messages from her phone, and while speaking with 911 dispatch, she attempted to remove text messages from Pierce’s phone, but the phone was locked up. Before deputies arrived, Shuler told police, she returned Pierce’s phone back into his pocket.

“It is my belief that we are still several days away for the sheriff completing the investigation,” Henderson said. “Certain things are being examined as it relates to telephones, text messages, photographs, other things that were found at the scene.”

Henderson said during the press conference that he commends the sheriff’s department’s quick response and the quality of their investigation.

Shuler is believed to be from Deputy, near Madison.

She is currently being held in the Floyd County Jail with no bond and is scheduled to appear in Floyd County Superior Court No. 3 at 1:15 p.m. today.
