Luminaria event rescheduled for May 30

LOUISVILLE — The Every Candle Has a Name luminaria ceremony originally scheduled for tonight on the Big Four Bridge has been rescheduled for May 30 because of weather concerns this evening.

The luminaria ceremony will honor, remember and celebrate the lives that have been touched by cancer through the lighting of up to 5,000 bags lining the Big Four Bridge and its ramp, according to an email from the American Cancer Society. The society will be celebrating its 100th birthday from 8 to 10 p.m. May 30 at the bridge, with the luminaria ceremony to begin at 10 p.m. Community members are invited to attend. For a minimum $10 donation, a luminaria bag can be dedicated in honor or in memory of someone touched by cancer. For more information, call 812-584-6783 or visit lightupbigfour.org
