HARRISON COUNTY — A Palmyra woman was killed in a head-on collision on U.S. 150 Tuesday morning.

Lisa M. Wilson, 45, of Hayes Court, was pronounced dead on the scene by the Harrison County Coroner’s Office, Indiana State Police reported.

The collision occurred about 7:30 near Gettlefinger Road after Wilson’s 2003 Saturn Ion was struck by a 2009 Kia Spectra, driven by Anthony L. Schlicher, 22, of West Posey Chapel Road in Salem.

Schlicher was taken to University of Louisville Hospital for life-threatening injuries.

ISP Sgt. Jerry Goodin said Schlicher remained in the hospital’s care as of 4 p.m. Tuesday.

The collision occurred after Schlicher’s vehicle, which was traveling westbound, crossed the roadway’s center line for an unknown reason, ISP reported.

“The preliminary investigation reveals Lisa M. Wilson made attempts to avoid the collision but was unable to do so,” ISP released in a statement.

Wilson and Schlicher were the only occupants in the vehicles, ISP reported, and both were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.

A team from ISP was called to reconstruct the accident. Harrison County Fire and EMS also assisted at the scene.
