Job fair for nurses set
Floyd Memorial Hospital will host an open house and job fair for registered nurses from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, at the hospital, 1850 State St., New Albany. As the hospital continues to grow and serve more patients, the need for qualified and dedicated registered nurses in all areas, especially the emergency department, cardiac ICU, observation unit and internal agency, has increased. Join the staff for refreshments, facility tours and the opportunity to meet with the leadership team and friendly staff nurses. FMH offers:
• A $3,000 sign-on bonus for experienced emergency RNs on evening and night shifts
• New PRN agency positions, with the potential to earn up to $46 an hour
• Excellent benefits, including up to $4,000 tuition reimbursement for graduate-level courses

40 & 8 open house, meal set
The 40 & 8 Club, 221 Albany St., New Albany, will host a meal and open house from 12 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 19.
This month’s menu includes fried chicken, meat loaf, mashed potatoes, green beans and slaw. The cost is $7. The public is invited
Lawn and leaf bags available
The city of Jeffersonville Street and Sanitation Department has paper lawn and leaf bags available to Jeffersonville residents (10 bags per person).
Residents can pick these bags up at the office, 2003 Renfroe Way, Jeffersonville, Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, call 812-285-6455.
5K run set for Saturday
A 5K Riverfront Fun Run will begin at 8 a.m. May 18, starting and finishing at Cluckers in downtown Jeffersonville at the corner of Riverside Drive and Spring Street. Same day registration and packet pickup starts at 6:45 a.m. Proceeds benefit The Serenity House Counseling and Support Center.
Fundraiser to help local team
10U River City Cyclones is having a fundraiser from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, May 18, at St. Augustine Parish Hall in Jeffersonville, featuring the famous Chris Cakes.
It will be an all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage breakfast for the cost of $7, with kids under 2 eating for free. Carryouts are available.
There will be a raffle/auction for several baskets including a signed Rick Pitino basketball. Proceeds will help the team with expenses to participate in the World Series in Johnson City, Tenn.
Golf scramble series begins soon
The Twilight Golf Course Friday night adult scramble series starts Friday and goes through Sept. 27.
Men and women, ages 18 and older are invited to play. It’s a best-ball scramble, random draw for a partner.

School district, city to play softball
The Greater Clark Schools vs. city of Jeffersonville softball game will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 19, at Vissing Park.
Proceeds go to Grassroots Prevention Coalition. Admission, adults, $2, children 6 to 12, $1.
Taste takes place tonight
Taste of Jeffersonville will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today, May 16, at Kye’s in Jeffersonville.
There will be many local eateries participating, along with a silent auction and live entertainment. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at Schimpff’s Confectionery, Choices, the mayor’s office or at the door the night of the event.

Church hosting ‘ugly dress’ tea
Restoration Christian Church, 11515 U.S. 31, Sellersburg, will hold an “Ugly Dress Tea Party” at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 18, in its Christian Life Center.
