City of Port Fulton rises again

Sign goes up commemorating annexed site in Jeffersonville

JEFFERSONVILLE — Sign of the times: city of Jeffersonville officials joined The Terraces of Park Place Neighborhood Association on Friday to erect a sign commemorating the historical city of Port Fulton at the intersection of Main Street and Park Place in Jeffersonville. The original city of Port Fulton was annexed by the city of Jeffersonville.  Previously, there was a wooden sign at this same location which was damaged during severe weather. Another interesting aspect to is this site is also near what was one of the largest Civil War hospitals, according to the city of Jeffersonville communications department. A new sign describing the rich history of the City of Port Fulton was hung at the intersection. The sign was a collaborative effort by The Terraces of Park Place Neighborhood Association, Port Fulton Landing Neighborhood Association, the city of Jeffersonville and the Jeffersonville Urban Enterprise Zone.
