Public forum on homeless set

The Jeffersonville-Clarksville Homelessness Task Force has scheduled its first public forum at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, in the council chambers at Jeffersonville City Hall, 500 Quartermaster Court.

The purpose of the forum is to discuss the issue of homelessness in the area and the public is invited to attend, according to a press release.

The task force was formed following the sweep of a homeless camp near exit 0 in late November. People living in the camp complained personal belongs were taken and they were not notified of the sweep. Jeffersonville suspended any additional sweeps to allow the task force to examine the policy.
