THURSDAY’S LATE RESULTS

SCOTTSBURG 3, CHARLESTOWN 0

At Charlestown

    Set scores: 25-8, 25-9, 25-16.

Charlestown highlights: Lauren Crowe 3 blocks, 2 kills; Erika Broady 1 kill; Cassie Martin 1 kill; Megan Brooks 4 assists, 3 blocks, 2 service aces, 1 kill; Kim Knight 4 blocks; Hayley Layton 1 ace.

Quotes: Charlestown coach Tammy Nuxoll, “Tonight was another tough match. We played in spurts, where we could get a small run going and then we would have a stretch where we had trouble passing. There were also several loose ball plays that both teams hustled for, but the ball always seemed to fall on our side of the net. We had a couple of injuries tonight and had to play the third game with two fewer players. I was proud of the way the girls stuck together despite having to play with different people. Megan Brooks, our setter, did a nice job of being aggressive at the net when the passes were tight.”

Next: Charlestown hosts Rock Creek Academy, Monday.
