MIDDLE SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Silver Creek wins second Clark Bowl title

Dragons defeat Southern Indiana Catholic, 13-0

SELLERSBURG — The Silver Creek Middle School football team recently won its second Clark Bowl championship. The Dragons defeated the Southern Indiana Catholic league in the Clark Bowl finals, 13-0.

Silver Creek scored on its first possession when Dragon quarterback Davis DeWitt threw a 55-yard screen pass to Jacob Garrett for a touchdown. Silver Creek place-kicker Daniel Barrett made the extra-point kick to give the Dragons a 7-0 lead.

Silver Creek wrapped up the victory with about two minutes left in regulation. On fourth-and-11, the Dragons’ Isesis Lukes made a 20-yard touchdown reception on a DeWitt toss to extend their lead to 13-0.

The Silver Creek defense concluded its season allowing only 20 points for the entire campaign, which averaged out to 2.2 points per contest. Despite giving up 13 points, the Southern Indiana Catholic defense had a solid performance in the finals by forcing four turnovers.

In the consolation game of the Clark Bowl, Clarksville and Charlestown played to a 6-6 tie.
