• Mustangs fourth at Fugate Memorial Duals: New Washington posted a 6-3 record to place fourth at the Robert Fugate Memorial Duals last weekend in Scottsburg.

Mustangs’ team captains Brady Meenach, Jacob Franklin and Yancey Crase each went undefeated during the two-day meet. New Washington coach Jeremy Campbell also lauded the efforts of Dalton Bingham, James Wise, Jacob Blackwell and Matt Mosley.

“This tournament was a good benchmark for us to determine what needs to be highlighted in the practice room in the coming weeks,” Campbell said. “Although we did not place as high team-wise as our goals were, our kids understand that the reason we are given setbacks is so that we can learn to overcome them. I have full confidence they will.”
