COLLEGE ATHLETICS: IU games to be on WXVW-1450 AM this season

Jeff station to air Hoosier contests through 2018-19 season

BLOOMINGTON — Indiana University football and men’s basketball action will return to the Louisville radio market this fall because of a five-year agreement between Ryan Media-owned WXVW-1450 The Sports Buzz AM Radio in Jeffersonville and Indiana University Sports Properties, which is the exclusive multimedia rights holder for Indiana University athletics. Learfield Sports, which manages the exclusive multimedia rights of Indiana University Sports Properties, announced the agreement on Monday.

Concurrent with the 2014-15 athletic season, WXVW will carry all IU football and men’s basketball games as well as both one-hour coaches’ shows for Hoosiers’ head football coach Kevin Wilson and Indiana head men’s basketball coach Tom Crean.

The new IU radio affiliate will provide Hoosier fans in the Clark-Floyd area IU radio coverage through the 2018-19 season.

“Our station is elated to be the home for the Indiana Hoosiers in Southern Indiana,” WXVW owner and general manager Dugan Ryan said in a statement. “Listeners in our market deserve a station that will cover their beloved Hoosier teams from play-by-play of games to weekly coaches’ shows and additional local programming that we intend to produce.”

“This market is prime for Hoosier broadcasts and we’re pleased to partner with 1450 The Sports Buzz in giving this fan base great Hoosier game action over the airwaves,” said Matt Baushek, general manager for Indiana University Sports Properties, in a statement.
