TEN TO WATCH: MSC on the line for Silver Creek

• TIME: 7:30 p.m.

• RANKINGS: Crawford County — Class 2A No. 8 AP.

• LAST 20 YEARS: Providence 4-2.

• LAST YEAR: Providence 47, at Crawford County 34.

• REASON TO WATCH: The Wolfpack and Pioneers are two of the contenders in the local Class 2A sectional.

• ANALYSIS: This could be an interesting game of matchups, but I like the way Providence is playing late in the season. No one — even rival second-ranked Clarksville — is going to want to see the Pioneers pop up in their side of the bracket during Sunday’s IHSAA tourney draw.

• THE PICK: Providence 44, Crawford County 42.

BORDEN (17-2) vs. VINCENNES RIVET (19-4)

• TIME: 10 a.m.

• RANKINGS: Borden — Class A No. 9 ICGSA; Rivet — Class A No. 4 ICGSA.

• LAST 10 YEARS: No meetings.

• ANALYSIS: Rivet has dominated the southern half of Class A for a half-decade, making four trips to the state finals — including a championship in 2011 — in the past six years. It may be the favorites in the South again. Borden has had a memorable season. Beating the bigger Patriots may be too much to ask.

• THE PICK: Rivet 63, Borden 55.

EASTERN (12-9) vs. NORTH POSEY (18-7)

• TIME: 10:30 a.m.

• RANKINGS: Eastern — Class 2A No. 17 ICGSA; North Posey — Class 2A No. 13 ICGSA.

• LAST 10 YEARS: No meetings.

• ANALYSIS: North Posey got off to a slow start against a tough schedule. Since the calendar flipped to 2014, the Vikings are 12-0 while the Musketeers are 5-6. Like Eastern, they also ended a long sectional draught. It was quite an accomplishment the Musketeers to win their first sectional in 18 years. It’ll take an even bigger effort to get by Saturday’s opener.

• THE PICK: North Posey 49, Eastern 35.
